Recession? We're not participating!

So, I've just realized that we're doing something fairly atypical: we're buying a house in the middle of a recession.  I've had a lot of people come up to me saying, "I can't believe you're doing that."  Then, after I explain how good the market is, the kind of deals you can get on a loan, and how it may be the best way to protect your assets from inflation, they're like, "Oooooh, I get it.  Good for you!"

We are very optimistic people.  We're not being crazy; we're prepared for the worst, trust me.  And we're gonna keep getting more prepared.  (Especially since the new house has a huge pantry that will be great for food storage!)  But we're not going to give into the fear, doom, gloom and depression we're seeing all around.  That's not what Americans or Christians have ever done in the past.  Why should that change now?  We're optimistic about the future, and we have faith that it'll work out for the best if we follow the Spirit.  And no matter what happens, we love each other.  Nothing can change that, and as long as we have that, we'll be happy.

So, America's having a recession?  Too bad - we're not participating!
